Mice were placed in an open field containing approximately 3 cm of fresh bedding material with 20 marbles in an evenly spaced 4 by 5 grid on the surface. Mice could bury marbles for 20 min. b Mice were placed in a clean home cage and total time spent grooming was recorded for 20 min. c P7 mice were separated from their mother and habituated for 15 min to induce vocalizations. The calls per min (left panel) and call duration (right panel) were recorded for 5 min. d Mice were placed into an open field for 10 min to assess locomotion and generalized anxiety.
